Summer... the fastest time of the year!

Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you. ~Carl Sandburg

I remember growing up how each summer flew by and before I knew it school was starting again. Braden is growing at super-sonic speeds. He's always trying to communicate - even if it's taking the easy way out -- "more chips". We'll get him to learn to USE the "please" and "thank you"s. So much to learn, and what's really important is how he learns and what kind of man/boy in the process.

What a treat to have a home that is a happy, safe, comfortable place that we can rely on. We've been in this home for more than 18 months, which is more than half of Braden's life thus far. Braden has his own room and the ownership is a good thing for him because he too is learning to take care of his things. Braden loves reading books, we read every night and it helps him relax and prepare for bed.

A few weeks ago, I had the unforgettable opportunity to spend a week with the YM on our super activity. This year was my opportunity to be in charge of the event. We spent the first 3 days deserted on Patos Island (most north west island in the lower 48). Each "survivor" brought (1) 1-gallon zip-lock of supplies plus the clothes they were wearing. We brought 2 live chickens to the island and a fishing pole. We caught fish, crabs and also enjoyed the watermelon we brought. After surviving the island and sailing trip back to land, we all enjoyed the best tasting Subway sandwich in my life. Wild waves, rafting, shooting, and time up at the cabin.

Life is flying by... trying to make the most of it. What a lucky man I am to have the family and opportunities. Life is good.
